Hi 🌵 I’m @typicode, a software engineer and the creator of Husky, JSON Server and JSONPlaceholder. I’ve been building web products and developer tools for 20 years, mostly with TypeScript, Node.js and Go.
I’m currently open to new opportunities. Feel free to contact me.
If you like my work, you can also sponsor me on GitHub.
Notes
- Arch Linux install guide 2024 Raw notes from a manual install with LUKS, systemd-boot and no desktop environment. Discoverable partitions skip fstab, and the AUR needs no helper.
- My uncommon webdev setup, part 3 (software) A tiling window manager, a terminal with the fonts built in, and the handful of CLI tools that earn their place. Over-customization is over-engineering.
- My uncommon webdev setup, part 2 (OS) NixOS with tmpfs as root. One file describes the whole system, and every reboot is a fresh install with only the folders I chose kept.
- My uncommon webdev setup, part 1 (hardware) Two keyboard remaps that keep both hands on the home row, and a full Linux install on a pocket SSD that follows me from machine to machine.
- Why husky doesn't autoinstall anymore Package managers said postinstall is for compilation. Autoinstalling Git hooks stopped being reliable, so husky stopped doing it.
- Why husky dropped conventional JS config Git already had a way to configure hooks. Putting JavaScript in front of it created a second source of truth, so I took the JavaScript out.
- Husky 5 A rewrite that goes back to something simpler, more flexible and closer to Git. Zero dependencies, explicit install, hooks as plain files.
Work
- oss Husky Modern native Git hooks made easy.

- oss JSONPlaceholder Free fake API for testing and prototyping.
- oss LowDB Simple to use local JSON database.
- oss MistCSS Write typed React CSS Components...
- code GitHub The rest of the source.
